Four Friends, One Summer

“So” he said taking a sip of his champagne, “Tell me your biggest fear.”
“I’m scared my anxiety makes me unlovable.” I blurted out. Once I floated that out in the air, I immediately regretted it. Shit. He definitely was joking. He definitely was expecting an answer like I had a fear of getting eaten alive by spiders or getting attacked by a bird. Not that I thought my anxiety made me undeserving of love. This is why my mom had always told me “think before you speak!” Fuck. It’s coming full circle. Well, at least I got some really good pickles out of this date. Johnny placed his champagne down and turned my face towards him. I felt a knot in my stomach as his blue eyes looked back at mine. Tucking a strand of hair behind my ear, he said to me, “I think your anxiety makes you human.” |

Meet Kat!Kat is a writer from Hyde Park, New York. Although she grew up in the Hudson Valley, she is no stranger to Cape Cod. Since four months old, Kat has spent every Summer on the Cape. At the age of 10 she knew she wanted to write a book. Now at age 26, that dream is finally becoming a reality. People always say “Write what you know”, so Kat thought “What better place to write about then where I spent the most time growing up?”
